YIHUA LI
Yihua Li graduated in organ and harpsichord performance from the Freiburg University of Music in Germany under Prof. Martin Schmeding and Prof. Robert Hill. Later, she continued her study for the highest diploma of Konzertexamen at the State University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart. In 2016, she became the only recipient of the double doctoral diplomas of organ solo and organ chamber music in the history of the university, under Prof. Ludger Lohmann, a leading master in the organ field and a renowned educator worldwide.
In 2009, during the study period in Germany, Yihua won the first prize in the Lodz International Organ Competition in Poland and held many organ solo and chamber music concerts in well-known concert halls and churches in Germany, Austria, Poland, and other countries.
In 2008, at the invitation of the Freiburg Opera House, Yihua cooperated with the Freiburg Philharmonic Orchestra to perform the opera “The Devils of Loudun” composed by the famous Polish composer Penderecki, which made her music career begin to blossom. In 2009, she held solo and ensemble concerts at the Szczecin International Organ Festival and the Kamien Pomorski International Organ Festival in Poland. In 2010, at the 18th Poland International Organ Festival, Yihua held a solo recital of Baroque works at the city cathedral of Lezajsk and then was invited to perform at the opening ceremony of the 16th Sejnach Organ Festival. In 2014, she held an organ recital at St. Wolfgang Cathedral in Reutlingen, Germany. In June of the same year, she was invited by Stiftung Mozarteum in Salzburg to hold a solo organ recital. During this period, she also performed on tour in many churches in Germany and accepted the invitations of the famous German organist Kay Johannsen to perform classic organ music works in Stiftskirche, one of the world's famous churches.
In June 2013, under the baton of Yaron Traub, music director of Valencia Orchestra in Spain, Yihua cooperated with Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra,and performed Saint-Saëns’ “Organ Symphony” in the 2012-2013 musical season in China. In 2014, Yihua cooperated with Reinhold Friedrich, trumpet principal of Lucerne Festival Orchestra(the world-famous conductor Claudio Abbado served as its artistic director), and successfully held organ and trumpet concerts in Wuhan Qintai Concert Hall and Guangzhou Xinghai Concert Hall. In 2015, in cooperation with Wolfgang Bauer, a famous trumpet player, Lukas Beno, trumpet principal of Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra; and Jorge Becker, trumpet principal of Southwest German Radio Symphony Orchestra, Yihua successfully held several organ and trumpet chamber concerts respectively in Qingdao Grand Theatre, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Concert Hall, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, and Zhengzhou Culture and Art Center. In 2016, in cooperation with the German Mannheim Brass Orchestra founded by Professor Ehrhard Wetz, vice president of Mannheim Conservatory of Music, Yihua successfully toured in Shanghai, Beijing, and Wuhan in February. In April 2017, Yihua toured with the brass quintet of Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra in Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan and Hefei successfully. As the organ art director of Perth Music Group, Yihua attached great importance to the basic education of music. In May of the same year, she held three events for organ art promotion in Harbin, Beijing, and Shanghai, attracting numerous music lovers to appreciate the organ art. On March 3, under the baton of the French conductor Pascal Rophe, she cooperated with Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra again and performed Saint-Saëns’“Organ Symphony”. In December 2017, entrusted by the China National Centre for the Performing Arts, she successfully recorded four classic organ solos in the series of “Roaming Classics" in NCPA Concert Hall. At the end of December 2017, she was invited to participate in the New Year Concert with Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra.
